Disaster Preparedness: Flood mitigation and rescue drill in Loikaw

A flood mitigation and rescue drill was conducted at Naung Yar Kan Thar in Loikaw Township on Friday to strengthen preparedness for natural disasters.

Chief Minister U Aunt Maw attended the event, and made a speech. The Chief Minister stressed the need for daily monitoring and analysis of river, stream and dam water levels during the monsoon season. He instructed the fire brigade members to remain prepared for timely search, rescue, and evacuation operations to minimize risks to lives and property and ensure effective disaster response.

The Chief Minister and officials received a salute from participating rescue teams. They then observed demonstrations, including rescue operations using life buoys, evacuation of flood victims by boat, extinguishing fire and boat-based rescue operations.They later toured a displayed exhibition of search and rescue equipment.
