Amyotha Hluttaw: 18th day meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

The 18th day meeting of the second regular session of the Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held at the Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday, with the attendance of 191 Hluttaw representatives.

During question and answer session, Hluttaw representatives raised questions on plans to upgrade over 80,000 ft long road to concrete one as well as market upgrading works in accordance with the Municipal Law in Mingan Ward of Sittwe.

In addition, questions were raised to reconstruct the new 130 x 30 ft RC 2-storey facility in substitute of old school building in the compound of  Post-Primary School in Hukaung Ward, Tanai Township of Kachin State along with the upgrading of Kinsara Basic Education Middle School (Branch) to Basic Education Middle School in KInsara Ward.

The Nay Pyi Taw Council member U Win Moe Khaing and Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing responded the questions.  A Representative from Magway Region has proposed establishing an Insurance Guarantee Fund and introducing laws to protect policyholders if insurance companies suspend operations or leave Myanmar. The session accepted the proposal for discussion. The Hluttaw session will resume on July 20 at 1:30 p.m.
