The White House emphasized that while President Trump prefers a diplomatic resolution, he is pursuing a dual track of military deterrence and open communication. Leavitt told reporters that Iranian negotiators explicitly communicated to the Trump administration that they "still want to make a deal". The White House clarified that President Trump is willing to sit down for talks to negotiate a comprehensive new framework.
