





The International Theravada Buddhist Missionary Council held its meeting Thursday in Yangon and it was inaugurated with the Ovada Gatha of the Patron Sayadaw of the Council, Rector of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Dr Bhaddanta Hsekinda .
On the occasion, Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin supplicated the university’s teaching, learning and management matters to the Patron Sayadaw. The Union Minister highlighted the amendment of the International Theravada Buddhist Missionary University Law and enactment and declaration of by-law in both English and Myanmar languages.
For the sustainable promotion and propagation of Buddhism across the world, Tripitaka treatises were translated and published into three volumes from 2017 to 2025 and arrangements are underway to publish the 4thvolume. The Union Minister also elaborated on conferring the Doctor of Literature (DLitt) titles to Venerable and Honorary Sayadaws who have contributed to the university annually. During the meeting, 7 papers were submitted to the council followed by a round of discussions.
