Ukraine, 9 allies set up missile defense coalition

Ukraine and its European allies said they are setting up an air-defense coalition to protect Europe from ballistic missiles.

Ukraine and nine other countries, including France, Germany and the United Kingdom, held their first meeting in Paris on Monday. They plan to set up joint technical working groups as they move ahead with making the group operational. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he hopes the group can develop this new system within the next 12 months and that all of Europe can use it.
