The City of Nice and the nation of France are holding a major three-day commemoration to mark the 10th anniversary of the July 14, 2016 terrorist attack, where a cargo truck was driven into crowds celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais, killing 86 people.

A silent, solemn commemorative march drew hundreds of people along the Promenade des Anglais. Led by nearly 300 relatives of the victims and representatives from four main survivors' associations, the marchers walked the full length of the seafront boulevard, which was completely closed off to vehicles.

Attendees included local city officials, the mayor of Nice, municipal councilors, the regional prefect, the public prosecutor, local firefighters, and representatives from the city’s football club, OGC Nice.
