EU says transatlantic trade 'deeply integrated,' vows to protect bloc's interests

European Commission on Wednesday stressed that transatlantic trade remains "deeply integrated". The EU has firmly vowed to protect its bloc interests, warning the U.S. to honor their commitments following President Donald Trump's threats to halt all trade with Spain over defense spending.

EU reminded Washington of the joint trade pact, which lifted tariffs on U.S. industrial goods, expecting the U.S. to uphold its obligations under that agreement.
