Senegal boat race takes over Ngor Bay ahead of Dakar Youth Olympic Games

Dozens of paddle boats participate in a race in Senegal's Ngor Bay in an effort to promote national culture through traditional pirogues and raise awareness of the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games, which will be hosted by the Senegalese capital Dakar in late October.

 With Senegal preparing to make history as the first African nation ever to host an Olympic event, local events like this are playing a major role in the ramp-up to the Games. The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will run from October 31 to November 13.
