Eiffel Tower pays tribute to the 250th anniversary of US independence

The Eiffel Tower was spectacularly illuminated in red, white, and blue on the evening of Friday, to kick off a weekend of major celebrations in Paris honoring the 250th anniversary of United States independence. The special light show commenced precisely at 11:00 p.m. local time, transforming the "Iron Lady" into a glowing tribute to the United States flag. The display was also paired with a celebratory fireworks display hosted at the nearby U.S. Embassy residence.
