Promoting Digital Literacy : Raising awareness on AI literacy

To promote digital and AI proficiency among government organizations, students, and the general public, a discussion entitled “Towards a Digital-Based Myanmar’s AI Era” was held at the assembly hall of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communication in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Union Minister U Mya Tun Oo attended the discussion and delivered the opening remarks. In his speech, the Union Minister outlined the crucial role of digital transformation process not only in Myanmar but also across the world and encouraged to accelerate AI localization within the nation.

By creating opportunities to apply AI in daily routine, digital literacy, digital maturity, AI literacy and AI maturity of the citizen will be developed. Calling for the tripartite effort of the government, private sector and experts to ensure brighter AI future, the Union Minister expressed his expectations to develop effective ideas for the growth of Myanmar’s AI sector.

Then, the detailed discussion was made on the theme “Towards a Digital-Based Myanmar’s AI Era”. The discussion was followed by a Q & A session between the experts and the attendees. The awareness sharing session was concluded with the discussion of Deputy Minister for Digital Development and Communication U Min Zeya Hlaing.
