Pyithu Hluttaw Session: 13th day of 2nd regular session held

The 13th day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw was held today, June 23, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Out of the 351 eligible members of parliament, 347 were in attendance.

As per the agenda, the question-and-answer program began. Daw Kyu Kyu Maw from the Thazi constituency raised a question regarding whether there were any plans to upgrade the approximately 8-mile-long gravel road connecting the villages of Wan Thar, Han Zar, and Tha Ga Ra, located north of Thazi Township, to an asphalt road. U Myint Tun from the Kyar In Seik Kyi constituency asked whether there were plans to construct the Zami River Bridge (Kyar In Seik Kyi) within a suitable fiscal year between 2026 and before 2030, to replace the small ferry boats currently used for crossing between the east and west banks of Kyar In Seik Kyi Township. Daw Zar Chi Lwin from the Monyo constituency inquired whether there were plans to continue construction on the remaining 5 miles and 1 furlong of the Shan Taw-Minhla-Inn Boke Kone- Monyo road (Monyo Township section) to convert it into an 18-foot-wide concrete road in the 2026–2027 fiscal year, and if so, in which fiscal year the work would be carried out. Along with these, a total of eight questions were raised. Deputy Minister U Thike Soe from the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development and Deputy Minister U Myo Myint from the Ministry of Construction provided the respective replies.

Today's session was adjourned at 11:20 a.m. The 14th day of the session will continue on June 25 at 10:00 a.m., it’s reported.
