





Under the guidance of the Ministry of Sports, the opening ceremony of the Weightlifting Referee and Coaching Refresher Course No. (1/2026), jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Myanmar Weightlifting Federation, was held Monday morning at the Multipurpose Hall of the Sports Training Camp (Gold Camp) in Nay Pyi Taw.
The event was attended by President of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for Sports, U Ye Myint Tun, who delivered the opening speech. First, as part of the agenda, the course instructors and trainees individually introduced themselves and paid their respects.
Afterwards, MOC President and Union Minister U Ye Myint Tun, delivered the opening address. He stated that the Government is providing support from various angles to further develop the sports sector in line with the national objectives of ensuring the health and fitness of the entire population and raising educational standards. He added that the Ministry of Sports, as part of its 100-day plan to elevate the sports sector, is organizing this weightlifting referee and coaching refresher course with the aim of improving the standard of weightlifting sports.
The ceremony then concluded with a group photo session. The Weightlifting Referee and Coaching Refresher Course No. (1/2026) will be conducted by four course instructors for 32 trainees over a period of five days, from June 22 to June 26, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Sports Training Camp (Gold Camp) in Nay Pyi Taw, it’s reported.
