







The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held its first monsoon tree-planting ceremony for 2026, Monday morning at Plot No. (20) of the bamboo and resin plantation project site, belonging to the Department of Small-Scale Industries, near the Khwa Nyo Pan roundabout in Uttarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council area.
The event was attended by Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein, Deputy Minister U Thike Soe, and ministry staff. First, Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein delivered an opening speech. Afterwards, staff from various departments jointly planted resin trees.
Similarly, the Department of Rural Road Development (Head Office) under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, together with district and township offices in Nay Pyi Taw, jointly planted a total of 413 saplings along both sides of the road connecting Shwe Pay and Sharsayfo villages in Zayarthiri Township, Uttara District.
The planted species included shade-giving trees such as ‘Thit Phyu (Sit)’, ‘Kokkho’, ‘Teakwood’, ‘Royal Poinciana’, ‘Padauk’ (82 trees), ‘Cassia’, ‘Gant Gaw’, and ‘Star Flower’ trees, it’s reported.
