Tree-planting and Youth Gathering: MOYA UM delivered the benefits of tree planting

A tree-planting ceremony and youth gathering, jointly organized by the Central Committee on Youth Affairs of Myanmar and the Mandalay Region Youth Affairs Committee, was held on June 22nd at Meiktila University of Economics in Meiktila, Mandalay Region.

The event was attended by Dr. Maung Thin, Union Minister for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Vice-Chairman (1) of the Central Committee on Youth Affairs, who delivered an address on the benefits of tree planting.

First, the Union Minister and Deputy Minister presented 100 saplings to Meiktila University of Economics for planting. The Union Minister, along with attendees and students, then systematically planted the saplings.

Afterwards, the Union Minister and responsible officials toured the planting activities to offer encouragement. Subsequently, a youth gathering was held at 10:00 a.m. at the Convocation Hall of Meiktila University of Economics.

Vice-Chairman (1) of the Central Committee on Youth Affairs, Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin, delivered the opening speech. In his address, he emphasized that young people must fulfill the historic responsibilities placed upon them, starting with the current generation.

He urged that they should not merely study for a degree but strive to elevate the nation's economy to the highest level starting from their own generation. He noted that based on the capabilities and historical traditions of youth, it can be seen that young people play a vital role in the country. He also encouraged youth to remain steadfast and dedicated to their goals throughout their life's journey.

Afterwards, Union Minister, donated sports equipment to Meiktila University of Economics, which was received by Rector of the University Dr. Mya Than Tar. Following that, Vice-Chairman of the Mandalay Region Youth Affairs Committee and Minister for Shan Ethnic Affairs, U Sai Aung Kyi, delivered an address. The Rector and responsible officials from Meiktila University of Economics then presented commemorative gifts.

Subsequently, students from the University raised questions, to which Union Minister Dr. Maung Thin provided clarifications and responses. The ceremony then concluded. Later, at 1:30 p.m., Union Minister donated books and school back bags to the Basic Education High School Branch in Tone-Ai Village, Meiktila, it’s reported.
