





The Myanmar parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi, who is currently in Brest, Belarus, to attend the 2nd International Forum of the Union State "Great Heritage – Common Future," together with parliamentary speakers and high-level international delegations from 17 invited countries, attended the plenary session of the forum held on June 22 at 12:00 p.m.
local time at the Brest Regional Community and Cultural Center in Brest. During the session, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw delivered an address. The Myanmar parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker also attended the International Commemorative Prayer and Military Ceremony for the "Day of National Remembrance of Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People," held at the "Brest Hero Fortress" Memorial Complex in Brest, Belarus, as part of the forum, at 3:00 a.m. local time on Monday.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalya Petkevich , Speaker of the Russian Duma Vyacheslav Volodin , parliamentary speakers and high-level international delegations from various invited countries, religious leaders, and tens of thousands of members of the public.
The delegation laid wreaths at the Eternal Flame and memorial plaques to honor the soldiers and civilians who perished during the war, and observed a minute of silence together with the attendees. Over 15,000 people, including representatives from 17 countries, attended the ceremony.
Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi also held separate meetings at the Brest Regional Community and Cultural Center, the forum venue. He met with Mr. Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus, at 9:45 a.m. local time, and with Mr. Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Russian Duma, at 10:30 a.m. During these meetings, the two sides exchanged views openly and cordially on matters related to respecting and adhering to the laws of both countries, and on comprehensive parliamentary cooperation between the respective legislatures.
