Pyithu Hluttaw Session: 12th day of 2nd regular session held

The 12th day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw was held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the Pyithu Hluttaw meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

Out of the 351 eligible members of parliament, 344 were in attendance. As per the agenda, the session began with the question-and-answer session. Dr. Aung Gyi from the Kyaiklat constituency asked whether there were plans to operate bus lines with affordable fares for the public in the Nay Pyi Taw Council area.

U Ye Htut Aung from the Minhla constituency inquired whether there were plans to levy taxes on unlicensed motorcycles nationwide and issue legal licenses in accordance with the law, and if so, in which fiscal year such measures would be implemented.

U Win Swe from the Khayan constituency asked whether there were plans to address the shortage of medical staff in Khayan Township, where there are one township People’s hospital and three station hospitals including Kyi Ni Kyaung, Kamarmat, and Pein Kan with a current shortfall of 11 doctors and 20 nurses.

U Sai San Sein from the Tanyang constituency asked whether there were plans to upgrade the Tanyang People’s hospital from a 25-bed facility to a 50-bed facility. Along with these, a total of eight questions were raised.

Deputy Minister U Aung Myaing from the Ministry of Transport, and Deputy Minister Dr. Aye Tun from the Ministry of Health, provided the respective replies. Today's session was adjourned at 11:21 a.m. The 13th day of the session will continue on June 23 at 10:00 a.m., it’s learnt.
