Two roadside blasts in northwest Pakistan kill 7

Pakistani officials told on Saturday two roadside bombings in the Bannu district of the country's northwest province killed at least seven people and injured three others.

The first remote-controlled explosive targeted a passenger vehicle, killing five. A second device detonated at the exact same location moments later as rescuers and locals attempted to transport the wounded, claiming two more lives. While no group claimed responsibility for the incident, President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the bombings, promising action against militant networks.
