Opening Ceremony: Wushu (Taolu) Invitational Tournament

Marking the 2026 Olympic Day, Wushu (Taolu) Invitational Tournament Opening Ceremony was held at Ba Htoo Stadium in Mandalay Region on Saturday. 

The ceremony was jointly organized by the Ministry of Sports, Myanmar Olympic Committee and Myanmar Wushu Federation. Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister for Sports U Ye Myint Tun attended the opening ceremony, and made opening remarks.

The Union Minister called on the athletes to make strenuous efforts through tournament, upholding sportsmanship.

Then, the Union Minister and officials cordially greeted the athletes. The tournament aims to foster Olympic Day values of friendship, mutual respect, and sportsmanship among youths, to promote friendship and camaraderie among ethnic nationalities, to exchange experience and technical expertise among Wushu athletes, and to turn out a new generation of Wushu athletes.
