Women Empowerment: 31st Annual General Meeting of MWEA

Union Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr. Thet Thet Zin attended the 31st Annual General Meeting of the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Association (MWEA) at Lotte Hotel in Yangon on Saturday.

In her speech, the Union Minister said MWEA, established in February 1995, has contributed to women’s participation and the country’s socio-economic development for 31 years. She noted that 93 Myanmar women have received the Myanmar Women Entrepreneur Award and the ASEAN Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award and extended congratulations to the recipients.

Speeches were also delivered by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, UMFCCI Chairman U Aye Win, MWEA Founder and Advisor Dr. Yee Yee Myint, and MWEA President Dr. Myat Thida Myint.
