Receiving a Courtesy Call: President received a courtesy call

At the invitation of the President Xi Jinping, President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on a state visit to the People’s Republic of China, received a courtesy call Thursday afternoon from Zhejiang ကျဲ့ကျန်းProvincial Party Secretary Mr. Wang Hao at the reception hall of the Huajia Shanzhuang Hotel in Hangzhou, where he is temporarily staying.

During the meeting, the Zhejiang Provincial Party Secretary warmly welcomed the President of Myanmar on his state visit to China and said he was greatly honored and delighted to have the opportunity to meet him. He also conveyed a heartfelt welcome on behalf of more than 67 million residents of Zhejiang Province.

The Party Secretary then briefed the President on matters relating to the province and stated that the Zhejiang provincial government would work to successfully implement agreements reached between the two countries. He added that further discussions and exchanges would continue in order to expand investment and trade with Myanmar.

In response, the President expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and the members of his delegation, as well as for the opportunity to visit the beautiful, green, and pleasant Zhejiang Province. He noted that only when the peoples of the two countries become closer at heart can deeper trust be built in other sectors as well, and therefore people-to-people exchanges should be further strengthened.

Afterwards, the President and the Zhejiang Provincial Party Secretary held open and friendly discussions on enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of technology, textiles, agriculture and tea, and energy, as well as on expanding trade and investment in those sectors. Following the meeting, the President and the Zhejiang Provincial Party Secretary exchanged cordial farewells and later attended a dinner banquet hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Party Secretary.
