





The seventh day of the Second Regular Meeting of Third Amyotha Hluttaw was held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall at the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw. Out of a total of 209 Amyotha Hluttaw representatives, 204 attended today’s session.
During the question-and-answer session, questions were raised including a question by U Samuel Shaen ဦးရှာမွေလရှဲန်, Amyotha Hluttaw representative No. (11) from Shan State, asking whether there was a plan to upgrade the dirt road leading to Wan Bo village in Pan Kyu village tract, Kengtung Township, Shan State, into a concrete road, a question by U Khin Maung Htay, Amyotha Hluttaw representative No. (7) from Magway Region, asking whether there was a plan to arrange for retired civil servants in Gangaw Township, Htilin Township, and Saw Township within Gangaw District, Magway Region, to be able to receive their pensions.
These and other questions were answered and clarified by Deputy Minister for Border Affairs Major General Kyaw Swar Oo, Deputy Minister for Finance and Revenue Daw Than Than Lin, and Deputy Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Theik Soe.
Afterwards, the Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw sought Hluttaw approval for the formation of the Myanmar–Russia Parliamentary Friendship Association, the Myanmar–Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Association, and the Myanmar–Kazakhstan Parliamentary Friendship Association, along with the lists of chairpersons, secretaries, and members of these associations. As the Hluttaw approved them, it was officially announced that the friendship associations between the Amyotha Hluttaw and the parliaments of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan had been established and that the lists of their chairpersons, secretaries, and members were confirmed.
Next, the Speaker explained matters relating to the formation of the Farmers’ Affairs Committee, the Youth, Women, Children and Elderly Rights Committee, and the Education Promotion Committee. The lists of chairpersons, secretaries, and members of these committees, as well as their duties, powers, rights, and terms, were submitted for the Hluttaw approval. Since the Hluttaw approved them, it was officially announced that the committees had been formed and that their duties, powers, rights, and terms were approved by the Amyotha Hluttaw.
After that, the seventh day of the Second Regular Session of Third Amyotha Hluttaw was adjourned, and the eighth day of the meeting would continue on June 19, it’s reported.
