Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr Charlie Than visited the Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung) in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, on Sunday. He met with officials from Myanma Pharmaceutical Industries (MPI), Pharmaceutical Factory (Inyaung) and Household Mill (Min Su).
During the meeting, the factory managers reported on operations. In response to the reports, the Union Minster called for increased production to help lower commodity prices, advance procurement of raw materials and spare parts and systematic monthly production and sales planning.
He instructed factories to assess market demand, pricing, distribution, break-even output, financial returns, profits and economic value for each product rather than relying mainly on government orders, while operating equipment at full capacity and strengthening quality control, process validation and preventive maintenance systems.
He also stressed transparent procurement, effective investment, human resource development, improved factory management, clear key performance indicators and full accountability to ensure the long-term operation of factories and support the national economy.
