India’s Modi, US President Trump meet in France

Marking their first in-person encounter in 16 months, the discussions centered on advancing bilateral trade deals and strategic geopolitics.

During the meeting, Modi specifically raised the paramount importance of securing Indian seafarers in the Strait of Hormuz. Both leaders navigated recent tariff tensions and committed to actively working on long-term India-U.S. trade agreements.
