Inspection of Workers Hospital: MOL UM inspected Workers Hospital in Yangon

Union Minister for Labour U Khin Maung Soe, accompanied by responsible officials, visited the outpatient department of the Workers Hospital Yangon Wednesday morning to inspect healthcare services being provided to insured workers. He warmly met and encouraged insured workers receiving medical treatment at the hospital and inquired about their health conditions.

The Union Minister also instructed the hospital superintendent and responsible officials to ensure that high-quality healthcare services are provided to patients with dedication and care. The Union Minister then toured the hospital’s medicine storage facilities and medical equipment arrangements.

He instructed responsible departmental officials to make necessary improvements to ensure systematic workplace safety and healthcare procedures and to coordinate efforts for greater operational efficiency. On June 16, the Union Minister and officials also visited the Myanmar Postraion Co., Ltd. garment factory and the SMK Mingalardon Co., Ltd. garment factory located in the Mingaladon Industrial Zone.

The Union Minister met with factory managing directors and officials, workers, members of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee, and members of the Workplace Coordination Committee (WCC). During the meeting, the Union Minister discussed workplace conditions, the implementation of workers’ rights and benefits, occupational safety and health measures, and the status of employment contract (EC) agreements.

He also coordinated responses to the issues and presentations raised during the discussions. The Union Minister and officials further observed and encouraged the activities of mobile medical teams providing on-site healthcare services at the garment factories, it’s reported.
