Meeting with Hluttaw Observers: Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker met with Hluttaw observers

The Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi met with an eight-member delegation led by Sayadaw Bhaddanta Ñyanapala from the Ramanya Nikaya Monastery in Ye Township, Mon State, who had come to observe the ninth day of the second regular session of the third Pyithu Hluttaw, in the Pyithu Hluttaw guest hall on June 17th.

During the meeting, the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker explained that legislative work is the primary responsibility of the Hluttaw, and that the Hluttaw is striving to ensure that the people can live peacefully and securely under the protection of the law. He stated that Hluttaw representatives, having been elected by the people according to their wishes, have the responsibility to work for the social and economic development of their respective townships.

He further explained that during the current Hluttaw sessions, representatives are fully carrying out their responsibilities on behalf of the public by raising questions and submitting proposals to ministries through Pyithu Hluttaw on matters that directly benefit the people, such as safeguarding farmers’ interests and stabilizing commodity prices.

Also attending the meeting together with the Speaker were Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and Pyithu Hluttaw representative Daw Mi Myint Than from Ye Township, Mon State, it’s reported.
