Meeting with Staff and Trainees: President met with Embassy staff and scholarship trainees

At the invitation of President Mr. Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China, President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on a State Visit to PRC, met with staff members, family members, and scholarship trainees from the Myanmar Embassy and the Military Attaché Office in Beijing Tuesday afternoon and delivered remarks.

First, the President and members of the delegation were warmly welcomed by staff members, family members, and scholarship trainees from the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office. Afterwards, the President signed the embassy guestbook.

The Ambassador then presented reports regarding the duties and activities of embassy staff, while the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, and Air Force) and staff from the Military Attaché Office separately briefed the President on their respective responsibilities and activities.

In his address, the President stated that this was his first State Visit to the People’s Republic of China since assuming the office of President, and that he had come to meet embassy and military attaché staff, their families, and scholarship trainees in order to give necessary guidance and instructions.

The President said that Myanmar and China are “pauk-phaw” relatives and strategic partner nations. He also noted that during the visit he had held discussions with Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping, the Chinese Premier, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

Through these meetings, discussions had been held on expanding comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries and on matters beneficial to both nations and peoples. The President further stated that China fully recognizes and supports the efforts of the new government in promoting national peace and stability as well as socio-economic development. According to the outcomes of the discussions, the current visit had been successful and was a positive trip capable of bringing benefits to both countries, etc.

Afterwards, the President presented gifts and honorary cash awards for the families of staff members from the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Beijing, as well as for Myanmar military and civilian trainees studying in China. The gifts and awards were accepted by the Myanmar Ambassador to China, the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy, and Air Force), and the trainees. Later, the President warmly greeted the embassy and military attaché families, fulfilled their needs, and shared dinner together with embassy families and scholarship trainees, it’s reported.
