Field Inspection Tour: MCRD UM conducted field inspection tour

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein, accompanied by Bago Region Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Cho Oo and relevant officials, met with local farmers in Pauk Khaung Township, Pyay District on Monday to promote systematic agricultural activities through cooperative systems and inspect rural development projects.

The Union Minister highlighted the importance of cooperative farming to reduce production costs and improve access to quality seeds, fertilizers, irrigation water, and other agricultural inputs. During the visit, seeds and inputs were distributed to farmers from WetToe and OatShitKone villages, while Smart Village and Village Development Project funds were handed over to four villages.

The Union Minister and party also inspected the upgrading of the Pauk Khaung–Kyoe Kyar road, a project expected to benefit 589 households, more than 2,000 residents, and over 160 acres of farmland. Emphasizing the importance of village roads, the Union Minister instructed for timely work completion in accordance with the prescribed standards. 

They then visited a traditional weaving training program in Kyoe Kyar Village and observed trained participants while instructing the needs for further development. At the Pyay District Rural Road Development Department office, the Union Minister met staff from district and township-level departments, reviewed rural development activities, and called for stronger coordination among departments and with other ministries, as well as greater community participation in village development projects for comprehensive rural development.
