ILO adopts new convention on decent work in the platform economy

The 114th Session of the International Labour Conference officially concluded on Friday. Held in Geneva, the historic two-week gathering of government, employer, and worker delegates resulted in the major adoption of a new international convention for platform workers and closed with key committee reports and ceremonial addresses.

The landmark Convention addresses a wide range of issues affecting platform workers, including workers’ rights, protection against violence and harassment, fair remuneration, social protection, and transparency and accountability in the use of algorithms and automated decision-making systems.
