First batch of fifth-generation F-35 jet arrives in Poland

Poland bought its first batch of fifth-generation F-35A stealth fighters from US on Friday. Three aircraft, designated locally as Hussars, landed at the 32nd Tactical Air Base. The jets are part of a massive $4.6 billion defense contract signed with Lockheed Martin in 2020. After this initial delivery, Poland expects to receive 14 jets by the end of this year, with the remaining fleet arriving progressively through 2029.
