Peace Talks: NSPNC meets with SSPP in Nay Pyi Taw

The National Solidarity and Peace-Making Negotiation Committee held peace talks with the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, the Secretary Lt-Gen Min Naing, and committee members. Representing the SSPP were Vice Chairperson (2) Sao Khun Sai, and members of the Central Committee. Both sides discussed the importance of solving political problems through political dialogue instead of armed conflict and working together to build a democratic federal union.

They exchanged views on building trust, promoting peace, supporting regional development, and cooperating to combat online scams and drug trafficking. The discussions also focused on maintaining ceasefire agreements, preventing clashes, resolving disputes through dialogue. The meeting ended with closing remarks from both sides.
