Deputy Minister for Transport U Aung Myaing inspected the construction progress of Thazi Station in Mandalay Region on October 23, including foundation works, platforms, the waiting shed and the overpass.

At the Diesel Locomotive Repair Shed, the Deputy Minister instructed officials to ensure regular maintenance of diesel engines.

During a meeting with officials, he emphasized the need for close coordination among departments to ensure effective implementation of work.

The Deputy Minister and party later proceeded to the section between Thae Taw and Samon stations to inspect ongoing works. Upon arriving at the Samon Creek Bridge construction project, the Deputy Minister reviewed the progress of construction.

The bridge was damaged by flooding caused by heavy rainfall associated with Typhoon Yagi in September 2024. A new reinforced concrete bridge, measuring 364.17 feet in length, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in March 2027.

The Deputy Minister and party then arrived at Kyaukse Station to inspect the construction progress of the new railway station.
