Receiving UNICEF Representative: MOE UM received UNICEF Representative

Union Minister for Education, Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, received the UNICEF Representative to Myanmar, Mr. Yasumasa Kimura, at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on June 10th.

During the meeting, they openly and cordially exchanged views on cooperation in further developing the basic education sector and implementing future priority programs together. Discussions also covered support for early childhood care and development training, English language teaching training, and school management training to enhance the capacities of teachers and school principals.

They further discussed comparative studies of education conditions among regional countries through the SEA-PLM program, continued cooperation in research related to literacy rates and gender disparities, educational opportunities and qualification recognition for out-of-school children, and continued collaboration to ensure schools and children have safe and secure environments.
