



Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the climate crisis is threatening humanity, highlighting the impact of excessive consumption during a speech in Istanbul. Speaking at the closing of the Zero Waste Forum, Erdoğan pointed to growing global inequality, saying overconsumption is worsening environmental and social challenges.
“On one side, millions of people cannot find food and water, while on the other, luxury and waste continue recklessly,” he said. Erdoğan also drew attention to global hunger, noting that 43 million children around the world are struggling with hunger.
