The ceremonies for awarding certificates of completion of military service and presenting People’s Military Service medals to the People’s Military Service personnel were held Monday at various regional military commands, it’s learnt.

These individuals had voluntarily and enthusiastically enlisted in People’s Military Service Batch (2/2024) under the People’s Military Service Law, which was implemented in accordance with the provisions of the 2008 Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and had dutifully carried out responsibilities for national defense and regional peace and stability as patriotic citizens.

At the ceremonies, the Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, region and state chief ministers, senior Tatmadaw officials from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), regional commanders, and responsible officials presented certificates of completion of People’s Military Service, People’s Military Service medals, and certificates of honor to the People’s Military Service personnel who had faithfully fulfilled their military duties and completed the designated service period. Tea receptions and honorary luncheons were also hosted for attendees, and officials warmly greeted and congratulated the patriotic servicemen.

It is also learned that the State and the Tatmadaw systematically ensured that People’s Military Service personnel who completed their designated service periods received the benefits they were entitled to during their service, including salaries, rations, and other support.

Furthermore, the State and the Tatmadaw highly value and honor their contributions as reserve forces of the Tatmadaw who served the interests of the nation without regard for their own lives during a time when the country needed them.

In addition, regarding employment opportunities for those who have completed their military service, if they so wish, arrangements will be made for them to attend vocational training courses offered by relevant ministries, to work as government employees or employees of domestic and foreign companies, and to engage in self-employed businesses in their communities.

The “Employment Management Committee for Those Who Have Successfully Fulfilled Military Service Duties” will coordinate these efforts in cooperation with relevant ministries, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), and overseas employment agencies, it’s reported.
