






On the Akya Day or descent Day which falls on (April 14) of the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Festival marking the transition from Myanmar Year 1387 to 1388, the festival continues to be celebrated joyfully and vibrantly at water-play pavilions in various regional military commands.
In keeping with Myanmar customs, Myanmar style, and Myanmar traditional cultural heritage, the celebrations are attended by officers, other ranks, family members, Yein dance troupes, modern music bands, and those participating in the New Year water festival.
As the New Year occasion continues to be celebrated on the Myanmar Traditional Maha Thingyan Akya Day or descent Day, New Year water festivals are being held at water-play pavilions in various regional military commands as well as in various military stations.
Chief Ministers of regions and states, commanders of the respective regional military commands, and responsible officials are attending, watching, and encouraging the competitive performances of Thingyan Yein dance troupes, and presenting them with honorariums.
Similarly, at the New Year Thingyan pavilions within the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) compound, celebrations are held in accordance with Myanmar tradition. Senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, along with officers, other ranks, and family members, are participating in the traditional Myanmar New Year Thingyan, using Eugenia branches to sprinkle Thingyan water in keeping with Myanmar cultural heritage.
Additionally, the New Year water festival is being celebrated by offering Satuditha (charity meals) to those participating in the water festival and by joyfully splashing water, it’s reported.
