Plans for Thingyan : Ensuring joyous celebration in Magway

The Magway Region Government plans to hold a grand traditional Thingyan Water Festival in Magway City along the riverside road. The festival will include a Walking Thingyan event, a central pandal, water-splashing stages, traditional dance competitions, music performances, and charity food donations.

A total of 19 dance groups from wards and government departments will take part in competitions and performances during the festival. Organizers also plan to use solar-powered pumps to draw water from the Ayeyarwady River, helping reduce fuel use and environmental impact while ensuring visitors can enjoy the celebrations comfortably.
