Regional Cooperation : ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting

Deputy Minister for Finance and Revenue Daw Than Than Lin attended the 30th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting and the 13th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting, held online on April 9 and 10 and hosted by the Philippines.

At the meetings, ASEAN countries and partners like the US, EU, and UK discussed investment, financial markets, support for small businesses, AI use, cross-border payments, and cybersecurity. They also reviewed regional cooperation in areas such as infrastructure funding, insurance, tax systems, and financial integration.

Participants from IMF, World Bank, and Asian Development Bank shared updates on global and regional economic trends and digital finance development. The meeting approved a climate finance policy platform and ended with a joint statement. The Philippines hosted this year’s meeting, and Singapore will host next year.
