Commissioning Ceremony: New aircrafts commissioned into service

In order to enhance Air Force capabilities, new aircrafts were commissioned into service on Thursday.

The commissioning ceremony was held at the Air Base Headquarters in Meikthila Station, with the attendance of Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing. In his speech, the Acting President stated the pivotal role of Tatmadaw in defending the state security and sovereignty of the nation and its independence, emphasizing for capabilities of Tatmadaw Army, Navy and Air Forces to protect national interest, land, water and air territories of the country.

He stressed that with the utmost strength of Tatmadaw, the independence, sovereignty and dignity of the country could be enhanced in the global stage. Regarding with the current global crisis, the Acting President stressed to elevate country’s air defence capabilities as it is important for national interest and defence system.

For all round development of air defence capacity, the Air Force also needs to possess supporting systems, maintenance and training capabilities as well as the skillful human resources. The Acting President stated the Tatmadaw’s efforts for nation’s peace and stability in participating disaster rescue, environmental conservation, and combating illegal drugs trafficking processes.

The attendees are urged to serve their duties while maintaining the aircrafts, weaponry system, aviation resources systematically and to hand over to the next generation. Later, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung clarified about the new aircrafts, and Chief of Staff (Air) Lt-Gen Tun Win announced the commissioning of the new aircrafts.

The commemorative gifts were also presented to the Acting President to mark the commissioning of the new aircrafts. This was followed by aerial display by aircrafts, showing Composite Formation, Kite Formation, Arrow Head Formation, Barrel Roll Maneuver and Cross Turn Maneuver. Subsequently, the Acting President and party sprinkled with scented water to the new aircrafts and took commemorative group photo. The Acting President later greeted the pilots and presented cash assistance.
