Automotive Policy: Union Minister inspects Vehicle Assembly Plant

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the Myanmar Motor Corporation’s plant in Mingaladon Township of Yangon Region on Monday, which assembles ISUZU vehicles under the SKD system.

Accompanied by the members of National Automotive Policy Taskforce, the Union Minister met with company officials to review production processes and quality standards. He emphasized on following government policies on motor vehicle development, ensuring vehicle safety and stability, and producing parts locally whenever possible.

He also highlighted the importance of adhering strictly to original manufacturer specifications, maintaining product quality, and safeguarding consumer safety. He noted that the SKD assembly system is key for acquiring technology and producing high-value vehicles domestically.
