







Seed Fair 2026 commenced at Pyinmana Agricultural Science School in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.
The opening ceremony was attended by Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Wah Wah Maung, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, Union Minister for Commerce U Chit Swe, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Deputy Ministers, various seed companies and farmer representatives.
During the ceremony, Union Minister U Hla Moe emphasized the importance of improving crop yields and promoting the use of high-quality seeds for better agricultural productivity. He highlighted government efforts to support sustainable farming practices and effective land and water use.
The Union Minister encouraged better public-private partnerships and emphasized the need for continuous investment in seed production to meet domestic and international market needs. The Seed Fair showcases over 90 varieties of crops, including vegetables and grains, and serves as a platform for farmers to access quality seeds and new technologies.
After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister and party visited the integrated farming in Pyimana, stressing the importance of maintaining high standards in farming and animal husbandry for optimal production and disease prevention.
