New Market Place : Thu Mingalar Advanced Market opened in Pyi Oo Lwin

The opening ceremony of Thu Mingalar Advanced Market was held in Pyi Oo Lwin on Friday, with the presence of Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The Acting President was welcomed with the lively performancs of ethnic cultural dance troupes and students from National University of Arts and Culture  (Mandalay) and Education Degree College (Mandalay).  After ceremonial ribbon cutting session, the Acting President pressed the button to open the Thu Mingalar Advanced Market signboard.

Then, the Acting President and officials sprinkled scented water on the signboard. Next, the Acting President made a tour to shop stalls, playground and cinema within the market and heard reports on current operation measures.

During the 2nd session of the ceremony, a video clip featuring the brief history of the market and its construction process was screened. Afterwards, the Mandalay Region Chief Minister presented a commemorative gift to the Acting President and delivered a thank you speech.

Thu Mingalar Advanced Market was constructed with the aim of providing a modern facility for the public, ensuring the convenience of the residents and visitors in Pyin Oo Lwin amid the growing population, as well as promoting trade. The market is systematically equipped with solar-powered electricity, fire safety systems, and natural disaster resilience measures. It also includes cinemas, a playground and parking facilities.
