Efforts for Power Supply: Electricity power supply resumed in Madaya Township

Due to attacks by terrorist armed groups, electricity lines and substations in Madaya Township and surrounding villages were damaged, causing a disruption in power supply since July 16, 2024.

However, with the support of the regional government, security forces, and efforts from the Mandalay Electric Power Corporation staff, major repairs were completed by February 24, 2026.

Key electricity lines and substations were restored, enabling power supply to important areas in the city such as government offices, the public hospital, monasteries, and street lights. Efforts to restore and extend electricity to surrounding villages will continue, with the Mandalay Electric Power Corporation planning further distribution of power.
