The Central Body for Summoning People's Military Servants held Meeting No. (1/2026) on February 26th at the Ministry of Defence in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting was attended by the Central Body Chairman, Union Minister for Defence, General Maung Maung Aye, who delivered an opening address.
First, the Central Body Chairman emphasized that successive levels of Bodies for Summoning People's Military Servants must adhere to the directive emphasizing "disciplined summoning procedures."
He stated that every citizen has a responsibility for national defence, and those who meet the legal age requirements are being systematically conscripted to serve their duty smoothly within designated periods. He stressed that ward and village administrative bodies and township bodies, which directly interact with the public during conscription, require supervision by responsible officials at various levels to ensure good social relations, prevent financial irregularities, and ensure compliance with prescribed procedures.
He noted that any illegal activities or misconduct by responsible persons or intermediaries regarding conscription must be effectively prosecuted, with cases already prosecuted and ongoing prosecutions. He also mentioned that arrangements are now being made to provide appropriate training to people's military service personnel who have completed their service period, enabling them to pursue government service, overseas employment, company employment, private sector employment, or self-employment. Attendees later discussed recommendations according to their respective sectors.
The Chairman of the Central Body coordinated necessary matters, delivered concluding remarks.
