Inspecting Fire-Affected Market: PM U Nyo Saw inspected fire-affected market

Prime Minister U Nyo Saw and responsible officials, in the morning on February 26, visited the Ahara Thukha Market where the fire broke out on the evening of February 25th, in Kinmontan Village, Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

During the inspection, the Prime Minister and party examined the extent of damage at Block (C) where the fire occurred and the ongoing debris clearance operations.

The Prime Minister also met with shop owners who had suffered losses due to the fire, offered words of encouragement, and coordinated with responsible officials regarding their submissions. According to reports, the fire at AharaThukha Market, started around 8:46 PM on February 25th from Block (C) of the market building.

Fire brigade personnel promptly responded and extinguished the fire by 9:31 PM. No casualties or injuries were reported from the incident. Approximately 240 shop stalls in one of the five market buildings were destroyed by fire. The remaining market buildings and shop stalls not affected by the fire continue to operate as usual. Arrangements are being made to facilitate the swift reopening of the damaged shop stalls.
