







Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman Union Minister for the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung, accompanied by other concerned officials, inspected upgrading works at Aung San Indoor Stadium in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon, on February 23.
They oversaw the stands, gymnasiums, meeting halls, offices, and designated buildings within the stadium. The Union Minister instructed officials to oversee demolition and reconstruction in stages, ensuring structures can withstand earthquakes, natural disasters, and weather. Working committees and subcommittees were also organized to carry out the upgrades.
The Union Minister and party also visited the indoor volleyball stadium. They enjoyed the Myanmar Volleyball Social Association Executive Cup Yangon Region Volleyball Tournament U-25, with the Chairman of the Myanmar Volleyball Federation. The Union Minister later proceeded to Thein Phyu Sports Stadium and inspected designated land to build a training center and office for Myanmar Kickboxing Federation.
He also inspected the launching of Referee Course No. (1/2026), jointly organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Traditional Letwei Federation. In Dala Township, the Union Minster and party inspected a football ground with a 400-meter synthetic runway and a 120 feet by 90 feet sports hall. During the inspection, the Union Minster urged for improvements to facilities, drainage, and maintenance to ensure long-term sustainability.
Afterward, the Union Minister and party met with Grade-12 matriculation candidates at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education (Yangon) and Sports and Physical Education High School and encouraged them to study diligently. They then had lunch, together with the students.
