







The Department of Labor launched the Skill Training School in Dagon Myothit (North) Township with the aim of preparing Myanmar migrant workers for overseas employment. Union Minister for Labor U Aung Kyaw Hoe visited the school on February 23 to inspect preparations for basic sewing training and pre-employment training courses for Myanmar migrant workers who will work in foreign countries.
During the visit, he instructed the trainees to uphold their own and their country’s dignity, follow local laws, claim contractual benefits, and seek help from Myanmar embassies if needed. He also reviewed the Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) issuance process and instructed staff to provide proper guidance.
The Union Minister and officials then visited the Center for Vocational Training in Thingangyun Township to oversee employer-employee agreement procedures for overseas workers and instructed on operational standards. Later, at the Skill Training Center (Yankin), the Union Minister inspected the preparations to launch MSME support programs and mobile vocational training courses.
He instructed on prioritizing training for youth who have not completed formal education, updating advanced courses with technological developments, providing job skills and offering employment opportunities after training. He also met trainees in the air conditioner installation and repair training course. The Union Minister later visited Yangon International Airport to review procedures for Myanmar workers traveling abroad and instructed staff to ensure smooth and convenient services.
