Myanmar Para Sports Team: Team to compete in 13th ASEAN Para Games

In order to compete in the 13th ASEAN Para Games, which will be held from 20 to 26 January 2026 in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, officials/coaches and athletes from the Myanmar Para Sports Team departed for Bangkok in the morning on 15th January from Yangon International Airport aboard Myanmar Airways International (MAI) Flight No. 8M-364. They were seen off by the Deputy Principal of the Sports and Physical Education Institute (Yangon), the Deputy Director of the Yangon Region Department of Sports and Physical Education, and other responsible officials.

Also traveling as invited guests to the Games were Major General Hla Moe, Director of the Resettlement Directorate under the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), Ministry of Defence, and Chairman of the Myanmar Paralympic Committee, along with two other invited guests. The Myanmar Para Sports Team, led by the Head of the Myanmar Sports Team and Vice Chairman (International Affairs) of the Myanmar Paralympic Committee, Dr. Tin Maung Hlaing, included sport-specific administrators/coaches, referees, and para-athletes, totaling 147 members.

The 13th ASEAN Para Games will be held from 20 to 26 January 2026 in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The Myanmar Para Sports Team will compete in 11 sports including swimming, athletics, boccia, bowling, chess, football, goalball, shooting, table tennis, volleyball, and weightlifting, it’s learnt.
