







Union Minister for Labour U Aung Kyaw Hoe attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the User Workshop on Human Development Indicators, held at the assembly hall of the Social Security Board (Head Office) on January 13.
The Union Minister stated that among the objectives of the Ministry of Labour is "to conduct labour-related research and to collect and compile labour market information." He mentioned that the "Project for Formulating Human Development Indicators for Population and Development Planning Processes" was implemented over a two-year period from 1995 to 1996.
The Ministry of Labour has continuously worked to ensure all ministries uniformly adopt and utilize the Human Development Indicators Handbook for long-term sustainability and development. The handbook to be published for the 2024-2025 fiscal year will be the 25th, Silver Jubilee, edition.
The human development indicators are being compiled with data from relevant ministries, and this handbook will provide a consolidated view of indicators covering all sectors comprehensively, among other remarks. After the opening ceremony, a workshop was held.
The attending representatives formed groups to discuss and propose recommendations for the long-term sustainability of the Human Development Indicators Handbook. They discussed the processes for continuing the compilation of the Human Development Indicators Handbook for the 2024-2025 fiscal year, and the workshop concluded in the evening, it is learnt.
