The government is continuing large-scale joint operations in KK Park and Shwe Kokko, areas known for online scamming and illegal gambling activities. Security forces, administrative authorities, and local officials are working together to clear illegal buildings, seize equipment used for online crimes, and shut down scam compounds.
In KK Park of Myawaddy–Mae Htaw Tha Lay area, authorities are demolishing illegal buildings used for online scam operations. The zone is divided into three sections. On Saturday, 7 more illegal buildings in Section (3) were demolished, bringing the total to 122 buildings cleared in that section.
Across all of KK Park, 270 out of 635 illegal buildings have been demolished so far. In Shwe Kokko, clearance operations that began on November 18 are ongoing. On Saturday, inspection has been made at 26 buildings, including residential blocks, warehouses, shop houses and hotels, ranging from two to eight stories.
No online scam operators were found inside, but mobile phones and personal items were removed. Since operations began, 135 illegal buildings have been identified. Of these, 101 buildings have now been fully sealed off to prevent reuse.
Overall operations in Shwe Kokko have so far uncovered 2,042 illegal foreign nationals, along with 3,310 computers, 21,870 mobile phones, 102 Starlink devices, 22 routers and many other items used for online scamming. Confiscated materials are being systematically destroyed.
Foreign nationals found in these areas are being temporarily held at a secure compound in Shwe Kokko Myine Village in Myawaddy Township. Authorities are collecting identification records and preparing for their repatriation.
Between January 30 and November 29, 12,915 illegal foreign nationals were detained nationwide. 10,029 have already been repatriated via Thailand, while the remaining 2,886 are ready for transfer. The government is carrying out the elimination of online scams and illegal gambling as a national priority, and will continue operations in cooperation with domestic forces and neighboring countries to prevent these criminal groups from re-establishing themselves in Myanmar.
