







In commemoration of the 2025 “16 Days of Activism to Eliminate Digital Violence Against Women” campaign, a ceremony was held at the State Hall in Mawlamyaing, Mon State. During the event, Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein urged women’s organizations and relevant departmental organizations in Mon State to ensure that their activities are effective, to work collectively toward ending violence against women and girls, to enforce effective penalties, and to help women obtain legal protection.
Afterward, a video document on efforts to prevent and eliminate violence against women was shown. The Chief Minister and responsible officials warmly greeted members of the women’s committees from the state, district, and township levels, and viewed the exhibition booths set up inside the hall in honor of the “16 Days of Activism to Eliminate Digital Violence Against Women” campaign.
In the morning, the Mon State Regional Tourism Committee’s coordination meeting was also held at the Aung San Hall of the State Government Office. The Chief Minister, who also serves as Chairman of the Mon State Regional Tourism Committee, delivered opening remarks.
Responsible officials then gave explanations on matters related to the development of the tourism sector, as well as on ongoing efforts to preserve and maintain ancient historical buildings.
Committee members in attendance continued with presentations regarding long-term tourism development in the state. State ministers discussed and supplemented the topics presented, after which the Chief Minister coordinated necessary matters and delivered the concluding remarks.
